Find What You Need Faster: Introducing the Built By Pete Article Index & Search
We’ve been busy — and not just with the Smart Shed! We’ve created the Built By Pete Article Index.
As the Built By Pete library has grown from simple networking tips to full-scale DIY construction projects, we realised it was getting a little crowded in here. Whether you are looking for that specific guide on PoE cameras or trying to find the latest concrete anchor bolt tutorial, we want to make sure you spend less time scrolling and more time building.
That’s why I’m excited to introduce two new features to the site: the Article Index and an upgraded Search Engine.
The Master Article Index
Think of the Article Index as the “Grand Central Station” of this blog. Instead of digging through months of past posts, you can now see every single guide we’ve ever published, neatly organized by category.
We’ve broken it down into the core pillars of the Built By Pete philosophy:
- Home Networking: Everything from Ethernet standards to ASUS Dual WAN setups.
- Smart Home Tech: Real-world testing of PoE vs. Wi-Fi cameras and more.
- The Smart Shed Build: Every part of our flagship project in one chronological list.
- Tools & Fixings: Honest reviews and “how-to” guides for the gear that actually works.
Smarter Search
Sometimes you just need an answer now. We’ve added a dedicated search bar to the Index page. Just type in a keyword—like “Ping,” “Cat6,” or “Shed”—and the engine will pull up every relevant article and video tutorial in our library instantly.
Why the Change?
My goal for this site has always been to make complex tech and DIY projects simple. But “simple” also means “easy to find.” By creating this central hub, we’re making sure that as we add more parts to the Smart Shed series and more networking deep-dives, the older (but still vital!) information doesn’t get buried.
Check it out!
Take the new Article Index for a spin and let me know what you think. Is there a category you’d like to see added? A specific tool you want me to index?
As always, if you have a detailed question or a project idea, the best way to reach me is still through the Built By Pete YouTube channel.
Build Smarter, Pete
